Haitian Health Allies is a partner of Fonkoze USA that works to improve the lives of individuals affected by HIV/AIDS in Haiti. We have a commitment to sustained medical care assumed by Haitians themselves. It is difficult to be indifferent after you've met people unable to access treatment. Our philosophy is that good health care is a fundamental human right. We cannot solve Haiti's medical problems but we can promote workable models that improve the quality of life and empower individuals living with HIV/AIDS. We partner our efforts to community organizations that microfinance projects for persons living with HIV/AIDS and support folk art projects of AIDS orphans. In the conversations that are taking place between Haitians and concerned Americans we may find some inspiration about how to think about issues in our own communities.

This video shows how HHA's goals to improve the lives of people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS converge with Fonkoze's mission of economic empowerment for all Haitians.

Fonkoze helps Haitians face many challenges:

• obtaining adequate food and water
• reuniting with family members
• re-building and/or re-location of homes
• obtaining adequate shelter before the upcoming rainy season
• controlling the spread of disease
• the fear of more after-shocks
